This is the first installment of what might become a whole course.  In the Intro lesson, we’ll talk about what Sefer Yetzirah is (a foundational text in Jewish kabbalah), who wrote it, when, why, and for whom, and how it’s influenced modern kabbalah, both Jewish and hermetic.  Then, we’ll close read through chapter one together, verse by verse, and word by word, in interlinear Hebrew and English, discussing them in detail.  No background in Hebrew or Kabbalah is required for this class.
